GENERAL FUND

The purpose of the General Fund is to allow the Dallas Parks Foundation to hire an Executive Director /Director of Development to work full-time seeking corporate, foundation and public grants for a world-class park system. The General Fund also assists with printing and other occasional expenses related to fundraising by Board members. Once sufficient funds are obtained to hire the Executive Director/Director of Development, he/she will assist current and future sub-funds, To realize the goals of the Renaissance Plan City-generated will never be sufficient. The Executive Director/Director of Development will obtain the Non-City funds necessary to realize the goals.
WHITE ROCK PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT

White Rock Lake is one of Dallas' premier parks and a popular destination for residents and visitors alike. User groups, corporations and individuals provide funds to support the planned development and use of White Rock Lake Park. The funds are used to support the planning, design and construction of new facilities and amenities, and the reconstruction or restoration of existing infrastructure at the park.
WHITE ROCK LAKE MUSEUM

A grassroots committee formed to construct a Museum dedicated to White Rock Lake. The Museum is located in the Bath House Cultural Center located on White Rock Lake. Individuals and corporations donate funds to this project to build and maintain the exhibit and collection.
KIEST ATHLETIC COMPLEX

Kiest Park is home to a variety of athletic venues including soccer, softball and tennis. Support for these athletic venues comes from user groups, corporations and fundraising events. The funds are used for maintenance of and enhancements to the facilities as well as securing and supporting tournaments.
WILLIS WINTERS III MEMORIAL FUND

Willis Winters, III, more commonly known as Will Winters was a football player at Woodrow Wilson High School when he died following complications from surgery. Will's father is Park and Recreation Department Assistant Director of Planning and Design, Willis Winters, II. The fund was established to accommodate the outpouring of support to honor this young life. Randall Park, which is located across the street from Woodrow Wilson High School, is the site of an athletic complex funded and used by both the City and DISD. The plaza in the center of the athletic complex at Randall Park is being built in Will's honor. The funds are used to construct endow the perpetual care of the project.
SUPPLEMENTAL MAINTENANCE FUND.

The Dallas Park and Recreation Department maintains more than 18,600 acres of park land in 450 parks. The City of Dallas provides funding for park maintenance each year, and that funding meets the basic needs of each park. Individuals and corporations donate funds to enhance the park maintenance in a specific park or by sponsoring certain activities, such as increased mowing cycles or operating fountains.
LAKE HIGHLANDS NORTH PARK PROJECT

The Lake Highlands Women's League and a prominent family in the community have raised funds for improvements to Lake Highlands North Park. Improvements include enhancements to the sprayground, picnic shelter and playground. The funds are used to supplement capital improvements in the park.
DALLAS PARKS AND RECREATION AQUATICS PROGRAM

Twenty-one community swimming pools are located throughout the City of Dallas, but participation in swimming programs and swim lessons is decreasing. The decline in the numbers of youth participating in swim lessons is disturbing. The department has initiated a "Teach a Kid to Swim" program, soliciting funds from individuals and corporations. The funds are used to provide no-cost swim lessons to low income youth and to purchase swim lesson aids and equipment that enhance the swim lesson and swimming experience.
TEXAS HORSE PARK

Plans call for public-private Community Outreach and Equestrian Center on the edge of the Great Trinity Forest. The goals are to promote youth equestrian activities, host international competitions, and provide recreational opportunities for all horse loving residents. This non-profit will raise $15 million over the coming 18 months for Phase 1 matching monies.
HISTORIC EVENTS

The City of Dallas Park and Recreation Department is responsible for many facilities with historical significance, including Fair Park's Art Deco structures; buildings built by the New Deal-era Civilian Conservation Corps, Works Progress Administration and National Youth Administration; and other parks that have long been part of the Dallas landscape and heritage. Individuals and corporations donate funds to support the cataloging, renovation and celebration of these facilities.
URBAN FORESTRY

In 2005 then Dallas Mayor, Laura Miller, established the Urban Forest Advisory Council. The commission's goals are to care for and augment Dallas' urban forest to improve the aesthetics, reduce carbon dioxide levels and reduce the urban heat island effect. Corporations and individuals contribute to the fund in support of the City of Dallas Urban Forest. The funds support projects such as tree planting, public information and education about trees, tree maintenance and an inventory of the Urban Forest.
GREENSPACE GROUP

Through funds raised in the annual golf tournament, this North Oak based organization will fund and grant public space enhancement activities throughout Dallas with specific emphasis in the southwestern area of the City.
TEXAS MUSIC CENTER

Influences of Western Swing, Jazz from New Orleans, and blues from the Mississippi Delta have influenced and nurtured generations of Texas artists and their music. Unfortunately, many Texans remain unfamiliar with the richness of this tradition. Placement of permanent museum of Texas music at Fair Park will ensure that the million of Texans who visit Fair Park during the State Fair and other times have the opportunity to enjoy the rich and diverse history of the State’s musical heritage.
